Traditional Pantomime Scripts

They’re called classics for a reason.

Panto Scripts Your Audience Already Knows

These are the titles that sell tickets from the poster alone. Every one is written from scratch: new characters, new comic business, new gags. The title is centuries old; nothing else about the show is. Each runs a full two acts with an interval, at around two hours of playing time, and your Performance Licence lets you add local place names and topical gags, which is what stops a familiar title feeling like everyone else's.

Traditional Pantomime Script Titles

Aladdin Pantomime Script

Everybody knows Aladdin, which is half the reason it sells. Ours adds a second genie, Jean of the Jeans, and puts Widow Twankey in charge of a launderette. Familiar enough for the poster, different enough that your regulars get something new.

Beauty and the Beast Pantomime Script

The story your audience already knows, with an enchanted household your Ensemble will queue up for. Only seven principals, so a smaller company can stage a title that often needs a big one.

Cinderella Pantomime Script

The most reliable seller in panto. Fairy Sparkles keeps things fresh as a work-experience fairy with L-plates and rather more enthusiasm than accuracy, alongside Ammonia and Amnesia, the Ugly Sisters.

Dick Whittington Pantomime Script

A proper old-fashioned panto that covers London streets, a sea voyage and a rat-infested court. King Rat gives you a villain worth booing, Eileen the talking cat steals every scene she is in, and the jazz-obsessed Rat-Pack are new to this version.

Jack and the Beanstalk Pantomime Script

Beans, a beanstalk, a giant and a cow. Everything the poster promises, plus Dame Trot running a dairy that falls apart around her and a two-person cow called Pat who gets some of the biggest laughs in the show.

Peter Pan Pantomime Script

Neverland, pirates and a hungry crocodile, with a Dame nobody sees coming, because ours is Smee. One of the biggest traditional titles you can stage, with 14 principals and plenty for a large Ensemble.

Robin Hood Pantomime Script

Better known as a story than as a pantomime, which is exactly the gap worth using. Sherwood Forest, a castle dungeon, an archery contest and a Girl Guides subplot, with a Sheriff who is properly funny as well as properly nasty.

Sleeping Beauty Pantomime Script

A hundred-year sleep splits this one neatly in two, so Act Two has a completely different energy from Act One. Carabosse is a genuinely scheming villain, and the three good fairies are called Silk, Cashmere and Velvet.

Snow White Pantomime Script

One of panto's great villain roles, an evil Queen with a magic mirror and a bottomless need for reassurance. Dame Babs and her two useless children bring the comedy, and the seven brothers can be played by adults, children, or a mix of both.
