Panto Scripts for Warmer Months
Summer panto has a different energy to December. Audiences arrive in higher spirits, the pressure of the festive season is off, and there's something joyful about a pantomime that happens when nobody expects it. Each script runs a full two acts with an interval, at around two hours of playing time, and your Performance Licence covers minor changes, which helps when holidays have thinned your cast.
Summer Pantomime Script Titles
Alice in Wonderland Pantomime Script
A summer tea party makes rather more sense than a winter one. Nothing in the script needs a festive setting, and the playing-card chorus is a gift if you are staging outdoors or in a marquee.
Cinderella Pantomime Script
Your most recognisable title, staged at the one time of year nobody else is doing it. A summer Cinderella sells on the name alone, and gives your audience the show they know when they least expect it.
Goldilocks and the Three Bears Pantomime Script
A circus in summer is about as natural a fit as pantomime offers. Bright and warm the whole way through, with a Big Top setting that suits a fete, a festival or a village hall in July.
Hansel and Gretel Pantomime Script
Baking, a forest and a Gingerbread House, with nothing wintry to work around. Eight principals makes it realistic for a summer show when half your company is away, and it scales up happily if they are not.
The Little Mermaid Pantomime Script
Sea, sun and a very silly version of the Cue Card scene from Love Actually. It needs no adapting at all to move into summer, which matters when rehearsal time is short over the holidays.
Peter Pan Pantomime Script
An adventure that never once mentions the season. Neverland in July works exactly as well as Neverland in December, and the flying and pirate scenes reward a bigger summer audience.
Pinocchio Pantomime Script
A circus, a schoolroom and a whale, all of which sit happily in summer. Roles double comfortably if your numbers are thin over the holidays, and the Ensemble scenes still carry the show.
Rapunzel Pantomime Script
A hair salon, an enchanted forest and a great deal of super-strength hairspray, none of it seasonal. Room for 15 principals if you have them, with roles that combine if the holidays have thinned your company.
Robin Hood Pantomime Script
Sherwood Forest in summer, which is where it belongs. It suits an outdoor production better than most, with an archery contest, a Girl Guides subplot and enough parts to keep a big company occupied.
