Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions outline our terms of use. By using our services, or submitting a form, you acknowledge and accept these terms in full.

1. Copyright and Usage

  • All scripts provided by Nick Lawrence Pantomimes (NLP) are protected by international copyright law and remain the exclusive property of NLP. This includes all edits made by the licensee.

  • You must not perform, reproduce, distribute, or copy any NLP script, in part or in full, without obtaining a Performance Licence or written permission first.

  • Sharing scripts publicly, including posting online or on social media, is strictly prohibited. This applies to both full scripts and excerpts.

  • Any breach of copyright may result in legal action and the cancellation of your Performance Licence without refund.

2. Perusal Scripts

  • Perusal Scripts are provided solely for reading and review purposes to traceable Amateur Theatre Societies, Groups and Organisations.

  • Possession of a Perusal Script does not grant a Performance Licence, and you must not share any script publicly.

  • Perusal Scripts must not be copied, reproduced, edited, or amended in any way. This includes sharing the script digitally or in print.

  • All Terms and Conditions applicable to full scripts also apply to Perusal Scripts and Script Excerpts.

3. Script Edits

  • Minor adjustments are permitted with any of our scripts, for example local place names, topical references, and instances where the script explicitly allows them. These must not detract from the quality or intent of the script.

  • More substantial changes require the Editable Master Script, which is provided in Word format. These include adding your own material, cutting or rewriting scenes, and adding song lyrics into the script.

  • You must not insert additional material that is subject to third-party copyright unless you have obtained permission from both NLP and the copyright holder.

  • If you are uncertain which applies to a change you have in mind, please consult NLP for guidance.

4. Performance Licences

  • A Performance Licence must be obtained before your production begins rehearsals in earnest. Performing without a valid licence is strictly prohibited.

  • Venue Capacity is determined by the maximum seating capacity of the venue, regardless of the number of tickets sold.

  • A Performance is defined as any showing attended by persons outside your society, group, or organisation, whether or not they have paid for a ticket.

  • Additional performances can be added by agreement and must be paid for before tickets are sold.

  • In the event of postponement due to unforeseen circumstances, please inform NLP promptly. Rescheduling is permitted at no extra cost, provided timely notice is given.

  • Licences, contracts, and agreements are non-transferable, non-exclusive, and non-refundable.

  • All fees must be paid in full and you must return your signed Contract before your Performance Licence is issued.

  • Productions of Peter Pan in the UK require an additional licence from Concord Theatricals, on behalf of Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital Charity. NLP is not liable for any failure to obtain this licence.

5. Video/Audio Recording Licence

  • A Video/Audio Recording Licence is not automatically included in your Performance Licence and must be requested in your application.

  • Recording rights apply exclusively to scripted dialogue, including any approved edits. Recording of music or songs may require separate licences which are the responsibility of the licensee.

  • Video/Audio Licences are granted solely for private and rehearsal purposes. Broadcasting, uploading, or sharing recordings publicly, including on YouTube or social media, is strictly prohibited.

  • A copy of any video or audio recording must be provided to NLP upon request.

6. Acknowledgement and Advertising

  • All publicity materials, including posters, programmes, and digital marketing, must include an appropriate credit to NLP. Acceptable forms of acknowledgement include:

“Pantomime Script Title” by Nick Lawrence

“Pantomime Script Title” by Nick Lawrence Pantomimes

A Pantomime by Nick Lawrence

Written by Nick Lawrence

  • Productions of Peter Pan must also credit J. M. Barrie, for example: “Peter Pan by Nick Lawrence, based on the play by J. M. Barrie.” Further conditions apply, see the Peter Pan Copyright Notice.

7. Reviews and Feedback

  • By submitting feedback on our scripts or services, you grant NLP permission to use it in marketing, including on our website. NLP may edit for clarity but will not alter meaning.

  • Publicly available reviews, including those in print, online, or on social media, may also be used for marketing purposes unless the author/publication requests otherwise.

  • NLP reserves the right to use your production images, posters, and promotional material for marketing purposes unless you specifically request otherwise. When you supply images to NLP, you confirm that you hold the necessary permissions for everyone shown in them.

  • All artwork, images, and written content on the NLP website are protected by copyright. Permission must be obtained for any use beyond viewing on the website.

8. General Terms

  • Breaching these Terms and Conditions may result in the immediate cancellation of your licence without refund, as well as potential legal action.

  • Perusal Script Requests and Performance Licence Applications are not guaranteed and may be refused for any reason and without explanation.

  • Where NLP chooses not to enforce a term, that does not affect our right to enforce it on any other occasion.

  • NLP reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. The latest version will apply to all licences and agreements.

  • All decisions made by NLP regarding licences, amendments, or breaches of these Terms and Conditions are final.

  • These Terms and Conditions are governed by the law of England and Wales.
